Xylazine (AKA ‘Tranq’) is an animal tranquilizer that’s becoming a common cut in street drugs across the entire country. As of September 2022, xylazine was found in 37 states mixed with fentanyl (most common) and other street drugs like heroin, cocaine, meth. In combination with opioids or other drugs, xylazine increases sedative effects but it is NOT an opioid. Learning more can help you be prepared to respond to a xylazine-related emergency.
