TAADAS provides training in the three "grand divisions" of the state (East, Middle, and West) to assist professionals in obtaining continuing education contact hours. TAADAS-sponsored trainings are approved for LADAC contact hours. TAADAS is a NAADAC Approved Education Provider.
Composition of the Workforce Advisory Committee: The Workforce Advisory Committee should have no more than fifteen (15) members and at least five (5) of those members must be from the prevention field. In addition to the fifteen (15) members from the prevention and treatment workforce, the following individuals must be represented on the Workforce Advisory Committee: The National Prevention Network Representative; the National Treatment Network Representative; the Center for Applied Prevention Technology Representative; and the Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network Representative.
Function of the Workforce Advisory Committee: The Workforce Advisory Committee should meet at least quarterly. The primary function of the Workforce Advisory Committee is to make recommendations about the content of the training events that will be offered using the following methods:
TAADAS will conduct prevention and treatment Workforce Development Surveys every other year to determine the training opportunities that should be offered to the prevention and treatment workforce. A draft of the Workforce Development Survey will be submitted to the Workforce Advisory Committee for approval no later than August 1. The completed results of the Workforce Development Survey will be submitted to the State no later than October 15. At a minimum, the Workforce Development Survey should be completed by at least one hundred (100) direct service providers from the treatment field and one hundred (100) direct service providers from the prevention field. The Workforce Development Survey should also be used by the Workforce Advisory Committee to develop the calendar of training events.
Develop and submit to the State for approval a calendar of 75% of training. Each calendar must include the title of each course to be offered, the type of course (prevention, treatment, or non-profit operation) and Grand Division
To provide alcohol and drug use and abuse prevention, alcohol and drug use and abuse treatment, and alcohol and drug use and abuse recovery service providers with alcohol and drug use and abuse training through mental health and alcohol and drug use and abuse workshops.
