What is the TAADAS Day on the Hill?
Our annual state advocacy day, named Day on the Hill, begins with a legislative breakfast at the Cordell Hull building that provides opportunities for addiction advocates to meet with state legislators and tell them about issues important to them and the communities they serve. Breakfast is followed by a day of legislative visits, committee hearings, and opportunties to engage with state policy makers about issues affecting treatment and recovery in Tennessee.
When is the Next Day on the Hill?
Date: February 12, 2020
Time: 7:30am - 3:00pm CDT
Location: Cordell Hull Building (425 5th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37243)
Why Should I Participate?
Legislators and policymakers listen to and rely on their constituents to share their knowledge and experiences. Who better than you to educate your Senators and Representatives about the issues that affect your life?
Can I Share My Story?
Absolutely! There are two ways:
1. Visit our advocacy page and find the "share your story" button. You can submit as much or as little detail as you like and tell us exactly how we are allowed to use it. This gives you total control over your anonymity.
2. Call and set up in-person meetings with your state legislators. You can find out who they are and how to contact them on our advocacy page.
What Other Ways Can I Get Involved?
Attend the monthly TAADAS meeting. It is held on the second Thursday of each month from 10am - 12pm. The meetings provide a unique opportunity for the public to gain inside knowledge from addiction and recovery professionals in the area. Find the meeting schedule here.
